To her, Halo is the “Holy Ring,” the promised path to the Great Journey (the Covenant’s belief that activating the rings will transcend all faithful beings into godhood). She receives a telepathic summons from a new figure: 343 Guilty Spark , a floating, holographic Monitor with a single, cyclopean blue eye. Unlike the game’s chipper tone, this Spark is menacing, clinical, and eerily polite. He calls Makee the “Reclaimer” and guides her toward the Control Room.
