Lootera (2013) is a Hindi romantic drama directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Set in the early 1950s, it tells the poignant story of a young archaeologist (or conman posing as one) who falls in love with a zamindar’s daughter, only to betray her—and later seek redemption. The film is known for its haunting beauty, soulful music by Amit Trivedi (lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya), and its loose adaptation of O. Henry’s classic story The Last Leaf .
