On Zod’s ship, Clark meets Zod, who wants to use the Codex inside Clark’s cells to terraform Earth into a new Krypton — killing all humans in the process. Zod also reveals that ; Clark is the first free-born Kryptonian in centuries.
General (Michael Shannon), a military leader, stages a coup to take over Krypton. He fails, and he and his followers are sentenced to the Phantom Zone (a prison dimension). But Zod vows to save Krypton by any means.
Clark finally understands who he is: . He decides to become a hero. Act 4: Zod Arrives on Earth General Zod and his crew track Kal-El’s ship to Earth. Zod sends a global ultimatum: “Surrender Kal-El in 24 hours, or Earth will be destroyed.” Clark surrenders himself to the U.S. military (led by Colonel Hardy and Dr. Emil Hamilton ).
