Early Life and Education Gusterov was born in Tallinn, Estonia, to a family of artists. His mother was a painter, and his father was a writer. Growing up in a creative environment, Gusterov developed an interest in filmmaking at a young age. He studied at the Tallinn Art College and later graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1992. Career Gusterov began his career in the film industry as a screenwriter and director. His first film, “The Polar Boy” (Eesti Poiss), was released in 2002 and received critical acclaim. The film tells the story of a young Estonian boy who travels to the Arctic Circle and becomes involved in a conflict between Russian and Estonian fishermen.
